Just a Small Town Girl

A little about me, I currently work at a small nonprofit right in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. For a few years now, I have been desperately wanting to get out of the state I've known my whole life, broaden my horizons, and really challenge myself by moving to a city where I know no one. I've talked myself out of it about 3 times, but this time I am finally committed. Committed enough to start this blog and sell all my furniture (post on this to come).

I know that I was frantically googling things such as 'How to Move Out of State', 'How to Find a Job Out of State', 'How to Move Without a Job' and much more. I really hadn't seen a lot of advice or blogs related to this topic, so I thought why not share my experience with the world in the hopes that it may help someone overcome their fears like I am!

I grew up in Ann Arbor, but I went to college at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and then lived in East Lansing and Lansing, Michigan for two years after graduation. I moved back to Ann Arbor in October of 2016 for a job, and shortly after got that itch again to see what else is out there.

East Lansing, Lansing, and Ann Arbor are perfectly nice small cities to live in and tons of people really want to live in Ann Arbor, but Ann Arbor is far too overpriced for what you are getting. I mean it's Michigan for goodness sake, not Chicago or NYC.

So I have my eye on a few cities, but depending on where I get a job or if I get one at all before my mentally scheduled move date will lead to the decision on where I end up. Stay tuned!

Xoxo,
