My Fall Shopping List

My Fall Shopping List

It’s the best time of year in terms of fashion. We all know it. There’s always going to be this excitement for fall shopping largely in part reminiscent of back to school shopping and creating “a new look” for the new school year. While I know now that you can’t completely reinvent yourself every year (I mean you could, but it’s expensive on the wallet), I do like the idea and the total refreshing feeling I get in the fall.

I lost a bit of weight in the last year, which has led me to having to replace my whole wardrobe. I have been trying to do this slowly each season. Although losing weight is great and having to get a whole new female wardrobe sounds fun in theory, it is in fact not fun for my wallet. I will be trying to add quite a few pieces to my fall wardrobe this year because of that fact and I thought it would be fun to share the types of pieces I’m looking for and a few options that I’m eyeing for you to shop as well!

  1. Plaid/Checkered Blazer

This seems to the new must-have piece for this fall especially for the young twenty-something professional. It’s definitely on my list. It’s a little bit more casual than your traditional black or navy blazer, giving you more options to dress it up or down. I can’t wait to pair one with jeans and a casual t shirt or jeans and a white blouse (white blouses are a staple of the capsule wardrobe I’m building). I will definitely be pushing the sleeves up a bit on the blazer to give it an even more casual cool look.

    Here are a few options:

  2. New Riding Boots

Every woman needs a pair of brown riding boots if not brown and black! I wore mine so much that the soles were coming detached from the boot, so I am search of a new pair!

    Here are a few options:

    1 | 2 | 3

  3. Classic Blouses

Lately I’ve been really into embracing a capsule wardrobe and collecting classic wardrobe pieces that I can pair with anything. I used to have a work wardrobe and a casual wardrobe, which as you can imagine was costly and led to acquiring a lot of clothing. Now that I am a bit older, I am embracing that my wardrobe needs to evolve with me and that I spend most of my time at work.

  4. The Perfect Tote Bag

I’m also in search of the perfect work tote bag that will fit my 13” Macbook Pro and all my other womanly necessities. There are some promising Kate Spade bags I’ve been checking out, but I may go to a Michael Kors outlet that my boss suggested as well.

A few options I’ve been eyeing:

    1 | 2 | 3

  5. Brown Booties

I have an amazing pair of black booties that I love and got from DSW two years ago I think. I’m in search of the perfect brown booties this year! Nothing screams fall like brown boots! Send any recommendations my way.

    Ones I’m eyeing:

    1 | 2 | 3

  6. Classic Flats

A woman can also never have two many flats. I have a pair of black Tieks that I love and have worn to death over the last four years. If you have been hesitant to buy them due to their hefty price tag, please do it! They last forever if you take care of them. Think cost per wear!

A flat company I have been eyeing is Rothy’s! I think they are super fashionable and I love that they are produced ethically and in a environmentally-sustainable way. Bonus: they’re machine-washable!

    The styles I’ve been eyeing:
