A Few Birthday Thoughts
My 26th birthday was last week and it was full of good friends (turned family), love, and celebration. This was the first year that I’ve ever had a “surprise party”. My two best friends planned three-part surprise extravaganza for me on the night of my birthday (which you can see part 2 above). The first part was drinks and charcuterie at Barcelona Wine Bar, which is amazing definitely check it out. Secondly, dinner at Brewery Bhavana and they brought out a little cupcake for me! Last but not least was bottle service and dancing at Halcyon.
On the day after my birthday, there was a concert I really jazzed about seeing. I got to check out Spoon, Cage the Elephant, and Beck live at the Walnut Creek Amphitheater. It was raining and we had lawn seats, but that didn’t deter us or the crowd.
I started a birthday thoughts post last year and I wanted to continue that this year. Which I may make it into a series. I hope you guys enjoy these posts. Leave me a comment below as always with your feedback! Let’s get started.
Getting older is not as fun when you get past 25. You definitely start to feel older and wiser but at the same time you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing. How fun!
This past year has taught me that what I thought mattered the last 25 years did not. What actually matters (to me now, at least) are the little things. Love, friendship, family (or friends that become family), Mother Nature and experiences over things.
Health is absolutely wealth.
Tailors are so worth it.
My life changed when I discovered the wonders of getting clothes tailored. If you have a big booty and small waist like me, then this will change your life!
Take care of your belongings - stop waste culture.
Invest in quality over quantity.
Kind of along the same lines of the last few thoughts, but specifically I have been buying more higher quality and classic pieces in both fashion, home decor, etc. This has not only made me want to take better care of my things, but it has made me happy and proud of my now curated aesthetic.
I’ll never stop listening to that weird emo and punk music. *shrugs
I have a great Spotify playlist, if you’re interested comment below or message me on social.
Learn as much about yourself as you can, including your boundaries and be sure to enforce them.
I don’t care what anyone says, my friends are family. If you’re reading this, I love you babes! xoxox
Celebrate your friends/family’s accomplishments outside of getting married and having babies. Life is hard, you have to celebrate the little and big wins.
Does anyone else reflect a lot on their birthday or is it just me?? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
